1:48 Captured Emil No. 1 – the captured Bf 109 E-3 W.Nr 1304 is a set of wet decals for finishing one particular captured machine in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains classic waterslide (wet) decals for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3 fighter with the works number W.Nr 1304 in captured condition. It is not a model and not parts: it is a decal sheet with a color guide to the placing of the markings. You apply the decals to a finished model that has been painted and prepared with varnish.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 E, nicknamed the Emil, was the main German fighter of the early part of the Second World War. A number of machines made forced landings during the fighting over France and Britain and were captured by the Allies, who remarked and tested them. It is exactly such a captured machine, with an unusual combination of original and new markings, that the set captures.
Apply the decals onto a gloss varnish base, which prevents the dulling known as silvering under the film. Use warm water and decal softeners so they settle into the detail of the surface. Once dry, go over them with a matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the character of the finish.
The decals are an accessory to a model. The model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
