A kit of the Italian 105 mm field gun in 1:72 scale, completed with the sprung Carrello elastico transport limber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Cannone da 105/28 was a field gun of 105 mm caliber; the second figure in the designation gives the barrel length expressed in calibers. In the Italian artillery it was one of the mainstay types and it stayed in service from the First World War right up to the fighting of the second. The Carrello elastico transport limber was a sprung chassis on which the gun was moved behind a towing vehicle; its springing let it stand up to moves along a road better than older rigid limbers.
It is a kit in 1:72 scale that includes both the gun itself and the Carrello elastico trailer. The assembled model will come into its own in a diorama of an artillery battery and beside a tractor or a truck of the same scale. The exact make-up of the package and the number of parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before gluing, free the parts of excess material and production marks: cut them off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully. Try the mating surfaces dry and only then join them. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, so that the paint holds; a sprayed primer and subsequent emphasis on the edges and the small detail work well. The carriage, the wheels and the underside of the limber will take pronounced weathering, because these were exactly the parts most stressed in the field.
The set will please modelers with an interest in artillery and in Italian equipment of both world wars, whether they are building a standalone exhibit or a whole scene. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
