A printed sheet from the brand Mark I for modelers who want to give their small Douglas DC-3 the form of a postwar airliner. The name gives the scale 1:144 and the subject of civil scheduled service after 1945. The item comprises only the printed film; the plastic subject is obtained elsewhere by the modeler.
The DC-3 flew in the mid-1930s and became the first airliner able to earn its keep from carrying passengers alone. Its all-metal construction with a low wing, a pair of radial engines and retractable landing gear was exceptionally durable for its day. After the war ended, hundreds of machines returned from military service to civil carriers and flew on short routes for decades more.
Polish the base under the motifs with a glossy coat, so that the edges of the carrier film do not show. Cut the individual elements out as closely as possible, soak them briefly in lukewarm water and settle them onto a moistened surface. A softener will help the film adhere across rivet lines and trailing edges. Finally close everything with a matte or semi-matte clear coat, according to the character of the scheme chosen.
