A kit in a small scale from the brand Mark I, whose release carries a subtitle referring to successful fighter pilots. The release is devoted to the British twin-engined combat aircraft that was among the toughest machines of its category.
The Beaufighter grew out of the Beaufort torpedo aircraft and took a large part of its structure over from it. A pair of Bristol Hercules radial engines and exceptionally heavy onboard armament made it an ideal carrier for the first airborne radars, so it made its name as a night fighter. Later versions attacked shipping with rockets and torpedoes, above all over the North Sea and in Southeast Asia, where it earned a reputation as a quiet and unexpected opponent.
The fuselage is short and massive, so take care over the symmetrical seating of the engine nacelles, otherwise the model will visually lose its correct stance. Leave the propellers free to turn and glue them only after the finish has been applied. Camouflage with hard transitions is handled well in a small scale by masking putty or thin strips of tape. Darken the wheel bays, so that the depth comes out.
The set comes as a set of unpainted parts meant to be glued together. Tools and paints are not included, unless stated otherwise.
