Eduard Allied airfield base with PSP planking 1:48 is a decorative plastic base for displaying an aircraft model to effect.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decorative base from the Czech maker Eduard. It is not a model but a striking surface to put a model on — an injection-molded plastic board of roughly 300x400 mm that captures the surface of an Allied field airfield of the Second World War with pierced steel planking (PSP). Perforated metal panels were laid on such temporary taxiways during the war so that aircraft could operate even from waterlogged ground.
For modelers who want to set a finished model into a setting to effect and bring it out on a period airfield surface. The base is supplied as a bare plastic board to be painted; a model is not included.
The base holds no model — it is a decorative surface. It is supplied unpainted; for a faithful look, spray it and bring it out with washes and pigments.
