About product

Luftwaffe gantry crane 1:72 (3DF)

A 3D-printed diorama accessory from the 3DF brand in 1:72 scale. The model captures the gantry crane of the kind used at field and permanent Luftwaffe airfields for lifting out engines, changing units and other heavy work during aircraft maintenance. It is not an aircraft kit but a scenic element for an aviation diorama and a service apron scene.

Material and working

The parts are printed on a 3D printer from resin or plastic and they are fine. Before building, separate them carefully from the print supports with good cutters or a razor saw, and sand away any small marks left by the supports. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate).

Painting tips

First treat the structure with a filler primer, then spray the base shade and use washes and pigments to add a realistic patina of rust, oil and dust in keeping with front-line service.

Who the accessory is for

  • builders of aviation dioramas and airfield support scenes
  • modelers of Luftwaffe hardware in 1:72 scale
  • anyone who wants to bring a display case to life with service equipment

This is a 3D-printed diorama accessory, not an aircraft kit. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
