The real subject

The Pz.Kpfw III was a German medium tank of the Second World War, and the L to N versions were among its later production forms. The crews carried boxes with tools, spare parts and personal gear on the hull and on the fenders, because there was no room left for them inside. It is precisely such small things that turn a finished model into a lived-in machine that somebody actually drives, and not a clean factory display.

What the set contains

A wooden box in 1:35 scale with the texture of wood on the walls and with a bracket by which it is attached to the vehicle. The type number distinguishes the individual versions within the line of accessories, so a box whose shape suits the intended place can be chosen. The parts are not polystyrene and they are bonded with super glue.

Building and painting tips

Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest down carefully. Wash and degrease the box before painting; paint does not hold on a greasy surface. Wood calls for layering: a lighter base, a dark wash over it that runs into the grooves between the boards, and finally a dry brush that brings out the edges. It is more convenient to paint the box and the bracket separately and to attach them to the model only at the end. Check the placing beforehand against the references for the kit you are building.
