New Ware supplies a sheet of laser-cut masks for a model of the late variant of the American bomber. The word in the name does not specify the version of the aircraft but the extent of the masking set. The cutouts match the parts of the ICM kit, with which the set is used; with another maker the shapes differ.
The Martin B-26 was a fast twin-engined machine and among crews it had at first the reputation of an aircraft that forgives no mistake. A short wing with a small area meant a high landing speed and the training units paid their price on it. The late variant received the wing set at a greater angle of incidence and landing became noticeably calmer. Beside American units, French crews also flew it in the closing phase of the fighting over western Europe.
The basic level concentrates on the transparent areas, of which this type has an unusual number thanks to its glazed nose, observation windows and gunner's stations, and further on the wheel discs. Every piece is cut to the shape of a particular part, so measuring out and the slow cutting of tape with a knife both fall away.
The contents of the package are masking material, and you will find nothing else in it.
The basic extent of the set covers what most builds need. Anyone who wants to mask the small windows and lights as well will reach for the extended variant of the same line.
