1:48 Ju 88 WWII USAAF/RAF bomber EXPERT kabuki masks represents the highest level of masking offered and also contains pieces for the inner face of the glazing.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is the widest variant of the masking set that New Ware offers for the type. Besides the outer masking it also includes pieces intended for the inner face of the transparent parts.
The glazed cockpit of the Junkers is glazed in almost every direction and the viewer sees into it even once the model is finished. When the frames are painted only from the outside, bare clear plastic remains inside and the impression falls apart. Pieces for the inner face let you spray the framing in the shade of the cockpit before the glazing is seated in the airframe. On a bomber with such a large area of glazing it tells more than on a fighter.
The Junkers Ju 88 served from 1939 right to the end of the fighting and went through a series of versions, from a bomber through a reconnaissance machine to a night fighter. The examples that ended up with the enemy were studied in detail, flew in mixed markings and some of them got as far as across the ocean, where their appearance surprised observers of the air defenses. The set is aimed at precisely these unusually marked aircraft.
The item serves for painting a model and does not contain plastic parts.
On glazing with many frames a pre-cut mask saves the most work, as cutting strips of tape by hand on a cockpit like that tends to take several hours.
