Art Scale masks for the A-20G Havoc of the RAAF in 1:32 scale are pre-cut self-adhesive stencils for the glazing and the wheels, prepared for the outer and the inner side of the transparent parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings die-cut self-adhesive stencils for the glazing of the cockpit, the gunner's stations and for the wheels. The double-sided designation means that shapes are prepared for the inner side of the transparent parts as well, so the frame of the cockpit comes out in color when seen from inside too. The brand Art Scale Kit is based in Liberec and makes its masks in the Czech Republic.
The A-20G was the attack version of the twin-engined Douglas A-20. Instead of a glazed nose for a bombardier it received a solid nose with gun armament and was deployed mainly from low altitudes. Australian crews with Bostons and Havocs operated over New Guinea and over other islands, where they attacked airfields, transport hubs and shipping. The combination of speed at ground level, heavy forward fire and a tough structure paid off in such tasks and the type kept a good reputation among crews until the end of the fighting in the Pacific.
Clean and degrease the base before applying, and press the edges of the stencils down with a toothpick, so that paint cannot creep under them. It proves itself to spray the shade of the inner frames first and only then the covering color of the airframe. Take the films off while the varnish has not fully hardened, with pointed tweezers and at a low angle to the surface.
The set is an accessory for a kit, and the model itself and paints are not in the package.
