Single-sided Art Scale masks for the B-26G Marauder in 1:48 are die-cut self-adhesive stencils for the outer surfaces of the glazing and for the wheels of the late version of the Marauder. The set is prepared for the ICM kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains die-cut self-adhesive stencils for the outer surfaces of the glazing and for the wheels. The cut matches the division of the windows of the late version of the Marauder, so a mask drops into the frame and does not have to be trimmed. It is made by the Czech brand Art Scale Kit. The subject of the cut is the ICM kit; on a model by another maker the set need not fit.
The B-26G version closed series production of the Martin B-26. Against older machines it had a wing with a greater angle of incidence, which improved its behavior on takeoff and landing and eased the reputation of a hard-to-handle aircraft that the type carried through its first years of service. The onboard electrical system and the equipment of the crew stations changed too. Late examples served with American medium bomber groups until the end of the fighting in Europe, some of them were taken over by the French Air Force and a few machines ended their lives in a training and target-towing role. The Marauder meanwhile earned one of the lowest loss rates of all American bombers deployed over western Europe.
Before you lay a stencil on, wipe the transparent part with a damp cloth and let it dry. Apply the paint to the frames in two passes: the first coat seals the edge and the second covers the area. Take the masks off within a few hours, so that the varnish does not bond across the edge and does not tear as you peel it.
There are masks only in the package, and the kit and paints are sold separately.
