The PT-TH06 scribing tool from the PRO WING line with a tungsten steel tip, in a blue form. For restoring and scribing panel lines and grooves.
Responsibility details are not available.
The scriber serves for scribing and restoring panel lines and other grooves on the surface of a model. You need it whenever a line disappears under filler and the sanding of seams, or when it is to be sunk more finely than the original kit carries it. The working part is of tungsten steel, that is a material chosen for its hardness and the longer life of the edge. The tool is supplied in a blue form, which tells it apart in a set at a glance.
Always mark out the route first, ideally with flexible guide tape or a photo-etched template laid on the model. Make the first pass as lightly as possible, just to create a guide track, and only then deepen the groove with further strokes. One deep cut easily slides off the route and repairing such a groove costs more work than all the paneling. Guide the tool smoothly, do not press on it and do not use it as a lever; a hard tip is also brittle and will snap if bent.
Clear the scribed material away as you go so that it does not clog the track and spoil your guidance. Smooth the finished line with a fine sanding pad and wash and degrease the surface before painting. Keep the tip clean and store the tool so that the point rests against nothing. Before scribing on the model, try the stroke on a plastic offcut; you will see how deep the tip bites and how many passes you will need.
A model, guide templates and consumables are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
