Decals for models of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I fighter aircraft in the markings of No. 310 Squadron RAF, 1:144 scale. The first part of the series.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet for models of the Hurricane Mk.I in the markings of No. 310 Squadron RAF. The designation in the name ends with the figure for the first part, which the further sheets of the same range follow on from. 1:144 scale is small: the span of a finished Hurricane comes out at around eight and a half centimeters, so the decals are small too and call for a steady hand.
No. 310 Squadron RAF was a fighter unit made up of Czechoslovak airmen who reached Great Britain after 1939. On Hurricane Mk.I machines it took part in the Battle of Britain and it belongs among the most significant chapters of Czechoslovak wartime aviation. The Hurricane Mk.I was at the same time a machine of mixed construction, that is with a tubular fuselage frame and a fabric covering at the rear, which shows on a model as a different surface texture from that of all-metal fighters.
In 1:144 scale every element is only a few millimeters across, so cut the decals out with a new blade right up to the edge and transfer them onto the model on water rather than with tweezers by the film. The surface must be smooth and glossy, otherwise the edges show through with silvering. Dip the element in lukewarm water for a few seconds, let it stand and once it is seated draw the water off with a soft cloth from the center outward. Use a decal softener sparingly, because small decals wrinkle in it easily. Finally go over the area with a matte varnish.
The model, paints and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
