An imitation of a bolt with a nut and a large washer 1.1 mm in size. The wide ring under the head turns the joint into a bold detail.

A bolt with a nut and a large washer 1.1 mm in size to be glued onto a model. Compared with an ordinary joint this part also has a wide ring under the head which in scale reads as a face and thereby markedly enlarges the joint. That is precisely its advantage: even on a small surface it is clear that something is held there, and the surface of the model gains a rhythm.
In reality a wide washer is used where the head of a bolt would otherwise push through a thin material or a soft pad: on sheet-metal covers, on the mounting of tanks and fenders, on frame joints, at exhaust brackets or on composite parts. On a model it therefore suits places where there is a thin wall under the joint, and anywhere the joint is to be visible at first glance.
Level and degrease the base so that the part seats over its whole underside; a large washer is sensitive to unevenness and readily tilts. Apply the glue in a small amount to the model, not to the part. When painting it helps to leave the ring of the washer a shade lighter than the head, or to let a dark wash into the transition which separates the two parts.
For modelers of motorcycles, cars and machinery who want the joints on a model graded rather than all the same. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
