Plugs of elastic foam mask off the landing gear bays of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the F and G versions in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains soft shaped plugs that fill the landing gear bays of the Bf 109 fighter in the F and G versions. The material is elastic foam, so nothing is glued and nothing has to be peeled off. A piece is pressed in, pulled out after spraying and put back in the box for the next build.
The Bf 109 F of 1941 was the aerodynamically cleanest form of the whole type: rounded wingtips, a retractable tail wheel, a cantilever tailplane freed of its struts and the armament concentrated in the fuselage and on the propeller axis. The Gustav followed it with the more powerful DB 605 engine and gradually grew bulges over the breeches of the guns, for which its pilots nicknamed it Beule, meaning bulge. Precisely because the wing did not change fundamentally between the two series, a single set covers both.
Paint and weather the bay and the inner side of the doors before you start the exterior spraying. Insert the plug dry and clean; after several uses it is enough to dust it off. On camouflage with two shades and soft transitions you will appreciate that the foam has no sharp edge that would cast an unwanted shadow at the rim of the opening when spraying at an angle. Before you put it away, make sure no dried deposit is left on the surface of the plug, because it would print its own outline the next time it is fitted.
