1:48 Jaguar GR.1/GR.1A one-sided express fit mask for Airfix is a self-adhesive masking set from Art Scale, cut for the outer glazing of the cockpit and the main landing gear wheels.
Responsibility details are not available.
The self-adhesive set from the brand Art Scale covers the clear areas of a model of the SEPECAT Jaguar combat aircraft. The single-sided execution means that the segments are cut for the outer surface of the parts; every piece follows the shape of a frame, so the laborious cutting of strips out of tape falls away and the risk of paint seeping under the edge drops appreciably. A double-sided variant of the same aircraft is available separately and adds covering from the inside as well.
The machine came about as a joint British and French program, and with the Royal Air Force it became above all a low-flying strike and reconnaissance type. The designation GR.1A was given to the aircraft after the modernization of their navigation and attack equipment, and it was precisely those that appeared over the Persian Gulf in 1991 in the light desert finish, which today is among the most built schemes. The slender fuselage, the high-set canopy and the pair of Adour engines give the aircraft an easily recognizable silhouette.
First degrease the clear parts and let them dry properly. Lift the segments with tweezers, seat them in the middle of a frame and press the edges down with the tip of a toothpick. Spray in several thin layers, because a single thick layer likes to soak under an edge. Take the film off as soon as the finish has set, while the edge can still be pulled away cleanly.
The set holds only the cut film. Paints and the aircraft itself do not belong with it.
