1:32 Macchi C.202 Folgore Camouflage Paint Masks Set offers ready cutouts for the mottled Italian camouflage of the Folgore fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
One sheet of shapes for the most striking Italian coloring of the Second World War: a dense network of dark patches and rings scattered over a sand base. On the subject the pattern was applied by hand and differed from machine to machine, so the set gives the basic outlines of the patches. You can use them as a finished mask, or only as a stencil by which you trace the shapes and complete them in your own way.
The Macchi C.202 Folgore came about from the joining of an elegant Italian airframe with a license-built German V engine, and it was the first Italian fighter aircraft whose performance matched its rivals over the Mediterranean. It fought over North Africa, over Malta and over home territory, and although it had weak armament, its agility earned it the respect of its opponents. The characteristic mottled camouflage on it is among the things by which everyone recognizes it.
First the whole model gets a sand base, and that must be really cured. Then lay the shapes gradually over smaller areas and apply the dark color lightly, so that the edges of the patches do not lift. Anyone who wants an even more faithful impression can slightly blur the edges freehand after removal. The set is usable on the related C.205 type and on other molds of the machine in this scale as well.
