A set of masks for spraying the camouflage of the Vietnam War era onto a model of the Douglas A-1 Skyraider aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider is an American propeller-driven attack aircraft which stayed in service long after the arrival of jet equipment. Over South East Asia it proved itself by what fast machines could not manage: staying over the battlefield for long hours and carrying a heavy load on its pylons. The model has a massive fuselage and a large wing area, so the camouflage fields take up continuous areas on it and every imprecision in a boundary is visible.
The set covers in the individual fields of the camouflage scheme of the Vietnam War era. The boundaries thus do not have to be measured out freehand or assembled from tape, because the shape is given in advance and repeats identically on both halves of the model. In 1:72 scale that counts double: the fields are small, around the cockpit and the engine section the boundaries break, and trimming tape by hand on such a small area usually ends with a frayed line.
The masks are supplied on their own. The model, paints and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. The masks are tied to the shapes of one particular kit, so verify the compatibility and the order of shades in the data and in the manufacturer's instructions.
