The single figure French Commando Kieffer Marching No.5 in 1:48 scale belongs in scenes from the fighting in Normandy in 1944.
Responsibility details are not available.
The fifth print of the line captures a commando with a rolled blanket and full field kit, keeping step in open country. The detail comes from resin printing, which manages even patches and straps a few tenths of a millimeter wide. The customer gets one figure on its supports, with no finish applied.
After the first day the commandos did not go back into reserve, as was usual with units like these, but stayed in the line. They held the stretch between the villages of Amfreville, Hauger and Breville east of the Orne, that is the right flank of the Allied bridgehead, which the Germans attacked repeatedly. The fighting in the dense hedgerows lasted weeks and the unit only left them in August 1944, thinned out and exhausted.
After weeks in the field the British battledress was far from clean. Play the basic khaki out in several tones, therefore, dust the bottom of the trouser legs with a lighter pigment and add dry earth to the boots. Darken the metal parts of the equipment so that only the edges catch the light. Seal the finished surface matte and leave the leather of the webbing slightly satin. Without a final varnish the dust wipes off at every touch.
The package holds neither paints nor anything for joining the parts.
