Painting masks for a model of the Me 262 HG III in 1:48 scale, cut for the kit from Amusing Hobby.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Me 262 was a German jet fighter of the end of the Second World War. The designation HG comes from the German Hochgeschwindigkeit, meaning high speed, and marks a line of designs by which higher speeds than those of the production machine were to be reached. The HG III design counted on a markedly swept wing and on the power units drawn into its root, so the outline of the aircraft differs strikingly from an ordinary Me 262. The word Entwurf means design; a real aircraft was never built and it stayed a project.
The set holds painting masks cut into shapes that match the parts of the Me 262 HG III kit in 1:48 scale from Amusing Hobby. The shapes are prepared in advance, so cutting strips of adhesive tape and bending them into curves falls away. Which areas the set covers and in what order the masks are applied are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Stick the masks onto a clean and degreased surface, always before spraying. Press the edge down with a toothpick or a blunt tip so that paint does not creep under it. Apply the paint in thin layers; a heavy layer creates a step on the edge that shows once the mask is removed. Take the mask off while the paint is still fresh, and pull it away from you at an angle, not straight up.
The set is for modelers who build the Me 262 HG III and want sharp transitions without laborious masking with tape. It saves the most time on the cockpit glazing, where masking by hand is hardest. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
