A masking set in 1:48 scale for spraying a model of the Me 262 HG III, that is the project high-speed branch of the famous jet fighter. The masks are stuck on before painting and peeled off once sprayed.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Me 262 was a German jet fighter of the end of the Second World War and the first machine of its kind to see combat. The abbreviation HG in the name belongs to the development branch that sought a route to higher speeds on this type, and the word Entwurf with a number distinguishes the individual designs within that branch. The HG III version stayed on paper and no machine ever flew in this form. For a modeler it is a build from the world of unrealized projects.
The package holds masking parts for spraying a model in 1:48 scale. The mask is cut for one particular kit, to which the abbreviation at the end of the name refers, so it pays to compare it with the kit you have at home before buying. Which areas of the model the individual parts cover and in what order they are applied are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Stick the masks onto a clean, dry and degreased surface before spraying; on dusty or greasy paint they will not sit down and paint will creep under them. Press the edges down with blunt tweezers or a stick, so that no air is left under them. Apply the paint in several thin layers at right angles to the surface, because a single heavy layer is more likely to get under the edge of the mask. Lift the mask as soon as the paint has set, and pull it at an angle across the edge, not straight up.
The set suits modelers who want sharp color transitions without laborious cutting of tape, above all where the edge follows a curve. It saves time and nerves and the result is more even than covering by hand. The contents of the package are the masking set only; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
