A rank-and-file rifleman of the French naval commando as the figure Commando Kieffer - Soldier 1 in 1:35 scale from BlackSnake Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The first figure of a numerous line from the French brand BlackSnake Model captures a rank-and-file rifleman, that is a fusilier. The figure is designed to look natural even on its own, without the support of a diorama. The brand builds on high-resolution three-dimensional printing, so the folds of the cloth and the straps of the equipment are legible without any extra engraving.
The unit was formed in the spring of 1942 in Great Britain as a detachment of Free French naval fusiliers. It was commanded by Philippe Kieffer, an officer who had made his living in banking before the war. They went through training to British commando standards and took their equipment and tactics from the British commandos as well. For the French the detachment had exceptional significance: as the only French ground unit it took part in the landings on D-Day.
Before you start, rinse the figure and dry it, so that no residue of print resin is left on the surface. Cut the print supports off with a saw, not with nippers. The uniform of the Free French followed the British cut, so an earthy green-brown runs through the whole body; it can be brought alive with a dry brush on the edges and with a dark deepening in the folds.
The figure is sold unpainted and to be assembled. A base and paints do not belong to it.
