A figure of an American soldier of the Vietnam War in 1:35 scale, the first item of a line devoted to the MACV-SOG unit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single figure for a diorama of the Vietnam War or for a display case beside a model of equipment of the same scale. The designation in the name ends with the sequence number 01, so this is the first piece of the series. A standing adult figure comes out at roughly five centimeters in 1:35 scale.
The abbreviation MACV-SOG marks the special operations command of the American army in Vietnam. Its teams worked in small groups and on deep reconnaissance tasks, which went with non-standard equipment and weapons of a kind not seen with ordinary units. It is precisely this variety that makes SOG figures a rewarding subject: two figures side by side look different every time.
Wash the figure in lukewarm water with a little detergent before painting and let it dry, as paint holds badly on a greasy surface. Cut the excess material and traces of production off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remnant with fine paper. Seat the parts dry first and check the stance. Apply the base color thinly, as a heavy layer fills the folds of the cloth and the straps of the equipment. Leave the face and the hands until the end and shade them with a glaze. The exact procedure and the recommended glue are in the manufacturer's instructions.
Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
