1:35 French Soldier 04

The real subject

The figure represents a French soldier of the artillery. The French word artilleur means an artilleryman, that is a soldier who serves a gun or a howitzer. The number in the name distinguishes the individual items within the range of French soldiers, and the second number the position of the artillery figure within that same range. Which weapon the soldier serves, which unit he belongs to and which period he comes from is not determined by the name; you set the context yourself from the equipment and the pose.

What the set contains

The package contains one figure in 1:35 scale. In this scale a standing adult stands roughly five centimeters tall, so the figure matches military vehicle models of the same scale in size. How many parts it consists of and how the individual pieces are fitted is stated in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.

• 1:35 scale
• one figure of a French artilleryman
• matches 1:35 vehicle models in size
• suitable for a diorama and for a display case on its own
• the make-up of the figure is stated in the manufacturer's instructions

Building and painting tips

Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and carefully sand the remainder so that the engraved folds of the clothing and equipment survive. Wash and degrease the figure before painting; paint does not hold on a greasy surface. It pays to paint the face and hands before you place the figure by the vehicle or into the scene, because afterward they are harder to reach with a brush. Choose the type of glue according to the material of the figure and the exact procedure according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Who it is for

The figure is for modelers who are building a diorama with artillery or who want to see a crew by a vehicle model. A figure gives the scene its scale and brings even a simple display case to life. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
