37 mm Bofors Mk I gun barrel for the LRDG truck (1:35, LZ models)

This is a stand-alone detail part, not a whole model. It replaces the barrel of the Bofors 37 mm Mk I anti-tank gun, which was mounted on the cargo bed of the improvised fighting vehicles of the LRDG (Long Range Desert Group) unit in the North African theater. The accurately made barrel gives the model a sharper muzzle shape and a better profile than the simplified part from the base kit.

What the part is for

The barrel was one of the recognizable features of the armed truck of the desert group. A replacement barrel rids the model of the mold seam left by gluing the halves together and offers the correct shape of the taper and the muzzle. The part is intended for a model of the LRDG gun truck in 1:35 scale.

Assembly and painting tips

• Clean the remains of the casting system and any mold release agent off the part.
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• Lay down a primer before painting for good adhesion.
• Pick out the muzzle and the moving parts with a fine wash.
