An officially licensed injection-molded plastic kit of the famous television car K.I.T.T. from the first season of the series Knight Rider in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima. The model captures the car in its Knight 2000 form as it looked in the opening season (1982-1983), including the characteristic scanner in the front fascia and the reworked interior with its computer console. Check the exact package contents against the enclosed instructions.
K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Two Thousand) was the fictional intelligent car from the series Knight Rider, the partner of the main hero Michael Knight. Visually it is based on the American coupe Pontiac Firebird Trans Am of the third generation, completed by film features — the red scanner on the front fascia and a futuristic dashboard full of buttons and displays. The first-season version differs from the later seasons in details of the body and the interior, so the model will please even fans who can tell the individual seasons apart. K.I.T.T. became one of the most famous television cars of all and its equipment still stirs nostalgia today.
Spray the body in gloss black with an airbrush and, once it has dried, polish the surface for the typical television shine, on which black paint comes out best. Glue the scanner and the glazing with canopy glue so that the clear parts do not go cloudy. Bring out the details of the dashboard and the center console with a brush and with the enclosed decals, which take the place of the small displays and controls. Assemble and paint the interior before closing the body up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
