This plastic kit from Hobby Boss in 1:48 scale captures the late version of the German Panzer IV medium tank in the Ausf.J variant. The kit reproduces the hull, the turret with the long gun and the running gear typical of the final production form.
The Panzerkampfwagen IV was the most widespread German medium tank of the Second World War and served throughout the conflict in many versions. The late Ausf.J variant was simplified for easier wartime production; it typically carried the long 75 mm gun, and spaced armor skirts were used to protect the sides and the turret. The tank was deployed on every front right up to the end of the war.
Finish the road wheels and the side plates before painting; lay the late-war three-tone scheme on with an airbrush over a primer. Bring the surface to life with washes, paint chipping and dust pigments for realistic weathering; any skirts add to the credibility of the model.
