An accessory set of the British machine gun Vickers K in 1:35 scale. Intended for models of equipment where the weapon is fitted on a gun mount or on a vehicle bracket.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vickers K was a British machine gun in 7.7 mm caliber, .303 in British designation, with a pan magazine fitted on top. It came into being as a weapon for hand-operated aircraft gun positions, but it became famous mainly on the light vehicles of the British desert units during the Second World War, where it was fitted in pairs and singly alike. Its high rate of fire made it a weapon suited to a short, violent raid.
The set offers the weapon as a standalone accessory in 1:35 scale, that is in the common scale for models of ground equipment and figures. You will use it where a kit does not contain the weapon, or where you want armament with sharper shapes of the barrel and the magazine on an open vehicle.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the smooth surface. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remnant down with fine abrasive paper. Choose the glue according to the material: parts that are not polystyrene hold on super glue. The weapon looks credible in a dark metal shade with light accentuating of the edges and with a discreet touch of dust on vehicles from desert service.
The set is for modelers of equipment and builders of dioramas whose finished vehicle lacks convincing armament. The package contains the accessory set only; the model, figures, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
