About product

A5M Claude seat - early version 1:48 (Art Scale)

This is a 3D-printed resin detail set, not an airplane model. It replaces the pilot's seat in the cockpit of the Japanese prewar fighter Mitsubishi A5M (Allied designation Claude) with a more faithful early version without the hand starting handle. Even in the smaller 1:48 scale 3D printing offers detail beyond what an ordinary kit provides.

What the set contains

A 3D-printed seat with fine pressings and frame detail. The part is very small and thin-walled, carried on print supports.

Usage tips

  • Separate the seat carefully from the supports and clean it up.
  • Glue with cyanoacrylate glue.
  • Paint it and add the belts before gluing it into the cockpit.
  • Given the small scale, work with a magnifier and fine tools.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of A5M models in 1:48 scale.
  • Anyone interested in a faithful cockpit and superdetailing.
  • Modelers used to working with resin and 3D printing.

This is an add-on set. The airplane model, paints and glue are not included in the package.

FAQ

For the Japanese prewar fighter Mitsubishi A5M with the Allied designation Claude.

No, it is a separate resin seat for a cockpit; the model is not included in the package.

It is small, so work with a magnifier and fine tools; the resulting detail lifts the kit markedly, though.
