An observing man from the crew of a British Scammell tractor in the Western Desert. A resin part, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The third numbered variant from the range of figures for the British tank transporter, cast in resin in 1:35 scale. The figure is captured looking out into the distance, which makes it a rewarding element at the edge of a scene, where it naturally leads the viewer's gaze toward the next part of the setting.
The fighting between Egypt and Libya was played out over long moves, and most tanks were put out of action not by a hit but by a breakdown or by bogging down in soft ground. Towing such a machine under its own power meant wrecking its transmission, and so a transporter was sent for it. A loaded tank then traveled tens of kilometers to the workshops, where one running example was often assembled out of several wrecks.
Cut the remains of the gate off with a razor saw and fill the mark it leaves with putty, which can be sanded once dry. The look into the distance is strengthened if you paint the eyes slightly narrowed and lay a fine shadow under the brim of the headgear. A matte varnish suits the end, so that the figure does not shine beside the matte surface of a vehicle.
In the box you will find the bare part, not a finished painted miniature.
