A co-driver of a British LRDG desert patrol from the first series of figures. A resin part in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second figure from the first series of figures for the British desert patrols, cast in resin in 1:35 scale. The place beside the driver belonged in a patrol to the man who had the map on his knees and worked out the course, so it is a rewarding figure for the cab as well as for a scene of its own.
On an open sandy plain there are no signposts, and a magnetic needle behaves unreliably in a metal vehicle. The patrols therefore used a sun compass, which gives a direction from the shadow of a pin on a dial, and in the evening checked their position by measuring the altitude of the stars. An error of a few degrees meant missing the well on which the return of the whole party depended.
Fill the small bubbles that appear here and there in a part with a drop of super glue and sand it down. Faces in this scale come alive with three flesh tones: a base, a darker one into the hollows and a lighter one on the nose and the cheekbones. Sunburned skin can be suggested with a very thin reddish filter over the forehead and the bridge of the nose.
A map or a folder on the knees can be added from thin paper if the part does not have one.
It comes as a raw part; the painting and any plinth are up to you.
