Seated man from the crew of a British desert patrol, the second series of LRDG figures. A resin casting in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The third figure of the second series made for the British Long Range Desert Group. The resin casting in 1:35 scale is modeled sitting down, so it will find a place on the cargo bed of a truck, on a crate of supplies or on the ground beside a halted vehicle.
A party would be on the road for several weeks and carried everything of its own: water in cans, gasoline, tools, sand mats for unditching and a stock of food. During the day the temperature in the open bed became unbearable, while at night it fell so far that the men wrapped themselves in fur coats. Stops in the shade of the vehicle were therefore not idling but a necessity.
Check the seated pose dry in the bed of your particular truck before you glue anything permanently. A few tenths of a millimeter sanded off the underside of the thighs is often enough for the figure to sit down without a gap. At the end throw a dusty shade onto the bottom of the trousers and onto the footwear, because that is exactly where the sand would cling most.
If you sit the figure on a crate, sand the buttocks instead and let the calves hang free.
The package consists of the figure alone, without paints, without glue and without the bed of a vehicle.
