A set of injection-molded parts for the Bf 109 G-4 in 1:48 scale. Brass parts, masks and sheets of markings are not part of it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The G-4 came about as the unpressurized counterpart of the earlier G-3 and outwardly differed from the G-2 only in small things. The most conspicuous change was the larger main wheels, on account of which bulged covers had to be added on the upper surface of the wing, and a new radio set with a mast of a different form. It is exactly such small things that make the borderline versions a popular subject, because most viewers will not catch them in a display case and a connoisseur spots them at once. The machines served mainly on the Eastern Front and in the Mediterranean, some of them in a reconnaissance build with a camera in the fuselage.
The package consists of injection-molded sprues and nothing more. It is an offer for the builder who will add the equipment from his own sources or who builds without it.
Modeling cement for plastic, which makes a joint by melting the surface, does not work on brass. Metal cannot be melted, so super glue or two-part resin comes in, and with them a different pace of work: the joint holds at once and a mistake is hard to put right. Anyone building only from plastic sidesteps this layer of complexity. That does not mean the finished model is worse; it means that attention moves elsewhere, to the cleanness of the gaps, say, to fine sanding of the edges and to the exact seating of the cockpit canopy.
