A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale for models of the American four-engined Consolidated B-24D Liberator bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Consolidated B-24D Liberator was an American four-engined heavy bomber of the Second World War. The D version belongs to the early production batches, which were deployed over Europe and in the Pacific, and it is told from later aircraft above all by the shape of the forward fuselage.
These decals in 1:48 scale are intended for models of the B-24D. The markings and the lettering give a finished model a particular identity, because it is the decals that tell one aircraft from another even when the kit underneath is the same. The sheet can also be used in part, that is, only for the national insignia, or only for the lettering and the warning stencils.
Cut the motif out as close to its edge as possible and soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds. Then let it rest until it starts to slide freely off the backing. Apply it onto a glossy surface, not onto matte varnish, or silvering will show under the decal. Blot the excess water away and, once dry, even the model out with a matte or semi-matte varnish. The recommended softener and the exact procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The sheet will be used by builders of aircraft in 1:48 scale who want to give their Liberator markings other than those offered by the box of the kit. Unless stated otherwise, the package holds the decals only; the kit, the paints and the softener are not part of it.
