Three Semovente da 75/34 self-propelled guns in one box. A long barrel, a low silhouette and the chance to build a formation that looks like a real combat unit on a base rather than a lone vehicle.

A single model is handsome, but only a group shows how the Italian self-propelled guns fought. They operated several vehicles at a time, spaced out so as to cover one another and to cover various directions with fire. This box holds three identical machines, so it lets you build such a formation at once and in the same style.
The version with a 75 mm gun thirty-four calibers long represented the peak of Italian self-propelled design. The barrel projected beyond the front of the hull, the penetrating power reached values that even Allied crews took seriously, and the turretless arrangement held the vehicle so low that it hid well in the terrain. Most of the examples built got into the fighting only after 1943.
The commonest mistake with multi-piece sets is to build three completely identical models. Little is needed, though: a barrel turned differently, a different degree of dust on the running gear, a different combination of equipment at the rear, and each vehicle gets a face of its own. It also proves worthwhile to paint all three hulls with the base coat at once and to deal with the finishing piece by piece. Three models, each around five centimeters long, fit into a palm.
