A spring sleeve for the rear assembly of the GHAD-68 airbrush, a replacement part.
Responsibility details are not available.
The spring sleeve is a short tube slipped onto the needle between the trigger mechanism and the spring itself. Its task is simple but essential: it carries the movement backward evenly around its whole circumference, so that the spring is compressed on the axis and does not press the needle to one side. Without it the pressure would act at a point and the needle would rub in the body.
The classic symptom is a grainy, jerky action of the trigger. The finger pulls smoothly, but the paint leaves in jumps, because the sleeve catches on the needle against the remains of dried binder or against its own worn edges. The second symptom is an audible clicking from the rear part of the machine when the trigger is released quickly. Sometimes it also turns out that the needle does not seat fully after returning and the machine drips slightly once put down. All three signs may appear at the same time as well.
This part of an airbrush does not have to be cleaned after every session, but once in a while it deserves attention, because paint gets into it along small paths around the needle. Wipe the sleeve inside and out and let it dry completely; neither oil nor grease belongs here, as they would attract pigment. While putting it together, make sure the needle passes through the center and does not rub anywhere, and only then tighten the rear case. The brand lists the parts of the rear assembly separately for each model of machine, so it pays to compare the designation before buying. If the action of the trigger stays rough after the replacement, look for the cause further forward, at the needle and its seal behind the nozzle.
