Pandem and the new Z

Pandem is an offshoot of the Kyoto workshop TRA Kyoto, and even a layman recognizes the hand of the designer Kei Miura: riveted fender flares, a deeply set front spoiler and a ducktail wing on the trunk lid. This kit suits the Nissan Z of the RZ34 generation better than many other cars, because its deliberately retro shaping with its reference to the 240Z model will carry wide shoulders without looking overdone.

The real subject

The production Z has a longitudinally mounted three-liter VR30DDTT six-cylinder at the front with two turbochargers, roughly 400 horses and driven rear wheels. It is available with a six-speed manual transmission as well, which is a rarity among today's coupes. The Seiran Blue shade takes its name from the Japanese term for the bluish haze above mountain ridges.

What you get

The casting measures something over seven centimeters. The body is of a metal alloy, the underside and the interior are plastic, the wheels turn freely and are shod in rubber tires. Nothing is glued, sprayed or put together – the car is finished and the work ends with taking it out of the packaging.

For a display case and for a scene

A small scale allows dozens of cars in one cabinet in the area that three pieces would take up in large scales. Besides a collector's shelf, castings like this are often used to bring city scenes to life, where they serve as a comparative scale against buildings and figures.

With castings like these the color variant is the main distinguishing mark. The same body comes out in several painted forms one after another, and the name of the shade therefore stands directly in the name of the car, so that individual pieces can be told apart.
