This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Kovozavody Prostejov captures the Czech light combat aircraft Aero L-159 Alca in the attractive Special Markings release with unusual, striking color schemes. Compared with the basic boxing, this release adds 3D printed parts that raise the level of detail and masking templates. The package usually contains decals for three bold finishes. It is a rewarding kit of a modern jet aircraft with a good balance of detail and ease of building.
The Aero L-159 Alca is a Czech light multirole combat and advanced training aircraft derived from the proven L-39 and L-59 family. The single-seat L-159A serves as a light attack machine, while the two-seat L-159E is intended for advanced training as well as combat duties. The aircraft is used above all by the Czech Air Force, and some machines have gone to foreign operators. The Alca combines modern avionics and a wide range of external stores with low operating costs.
Separate the 3D printed parts carefully from their carriers and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The striking special schemes tend to be demanding in color, so an airbrush, quality masks and laying the shades down in layers pay off. Apply a primer, lay the decals onto a gloss coat and unify the whole with a clear coat of the sheen you want. Mask the cockpit with the templates supplied and fit it only once the frame has been painted.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
