Eight heads with Asian features in 1:35 scale - four types with open mouths and four with closed, for converting figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
The head decides who we see on a model. On a soldier in uniform it is often the only place where the origin of the figure, its age and what it is doing can be told. Production kits, though, offer heads in a limited choice only and European types predominate in them, so a scene from a Pacific or Asian battlefield is hard to put together without replacement parts.
The package offers eight heads in two groups of four: four different types with open mouths and four with closed ones. Open mouths suit figures shouting an order, yelling in combat or laughing, while closed ones look concentrated and calm. By combining both groups you can build a group in which every figure looks different.
Cut the original head off at the collar or the neck, level the surface and fit the new part so that the figure's gaze is directed into what is happening in the scene. It is precisely the angle of the head that does more for the resulting pose than anything else - a slight turn and tilt turn a static figure into a person absorbed in work.
Work from a darker base up to the light peaks, that is, the forehead, the nose and the cheekbones. Add a cooler tone into the shadows under the chin and around the eyes, and warm the lips slightly instead. Leave the hair matte so that it does not draw attention away from the face. Finally look the finished head over against side light from several directions, because that is exactly when it shows where the face still needs deepening.
