IONIC Sand is a paint from the IONIC line by AMMO of Mig Jimenez, and the name places it with the coloring of sand. In modeling a tone like this goes on bases and dioramas with parched ground, on desert camouflage, on light fabrics and canvas, and on the dusty deposits that are drawn dry across edges and lower surfaces. How warm and light the tone is does not follow from the name, so compare it against the manufacturer's color chart before you add it to your palette.
Stir the contents thoroughly before you take any out; pigment settling at the bottom is normal with modeling paints. The thinner intended for this line and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging and those instructions take precedence; a thinner from another line can curdle the paint. Apply several thin coats and let each one dry, because a single heavy coat floods the engraving and the fine detail disappears. Light shades cover more slowly over a dark surface, so count on several passes or lay down a light base first.
