Shaped plugs for the landing gear bays of the Sea Fury in 1:48 scale. They blank off the openings for as long as the spraying lasts, so that no paint settles inside.

As the Royal Navy gradually retired its piston fighters, the armed forces of the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Burma and Cuba bought them and flew them well into the 1960s. The most interesting chapter, though, began in private hands: thanks to the powerful radial engine and the clean airframe these aircraft became sought-after racers, and with clipped wings and boosted engines they still compete for the fastest lap among piston machines today. Few military types have outlived their service quite so spectacularly.
The plugs solve one particular problem during a build. The landing gear bays are painted in a different color from the underside of the airframe, and their openings are at the same time the easiest route for mist from the airbrush to reach the finished interior of the bay. A shaped piece put in closes the opening exactly along its outline, so the edge of the sprayed coat follows the rim and not a piece of tape stuck on at random.
Points to watch: put the plug in only once the paint inside the bay has dried completely, otherwise the surface will take an impression. Pull it out straight rather than twisting it, and do so before the coat on the underside of the airframe has fully cured; hardened paint could flake away precisely along the rim of the opening.
