A precisely cast resin set of corrected engine cowlings with open cooling flaps for a model of the PBY-5 Catalina naval flying boat in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that corrects the shape of the cowlings against the base kit and adds a realistic look to the engines. Intended for PBY-5 Catalina models.
The Consolidated PBY Catalina was an American naval patrol and rescue flying boat of the Second World War. Radial engines behind cowling rings with adjustable cooling flaps were among its characteristic features; open flaps match a machine standing with the engines warmed up.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and clean them up. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spraying the inside of the cowlings and the engines in metallic shades and bringing them up with a patina works well.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
