A resin set of figures in 1:35 scale from Thunder Model. It contains a pair of figures of the British crew, intended to bring a model of the M1A1 heavy recovery and towing vehicle to life. It is not a kit of the vehicle but add-on figures that give a scene scale and a human dimension.
The M1A1 heavy wrecker was an American towing and recovery vehicle on a truck chassis, fitted with a crane and a winch. In the service of British and Allied units during the Second World War it handled the recovery of bogged-down and damaged equipment. The figures capture the crew in period uniforms at typical work around the vehicle.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and join them with cyanoacrylate glue. Sand with your airways protected. For a realistic look, an undercoat sprayed with an airbrush proves its worth, followed by shading and picking out the folds of the uniforms with oil paints or a wash. Fine layering of flesh shades helps the faces.
