What they are good for

Eight tenths of a millimeter is a size that can be worked with on practically any model of machinery. It is large enough to stay readable after spraying and at the same time small enough not to look coarse even on smaller parts. A bolted joint is everywhere on a real machine where something is fitted and removed again: flanges, lids, feet, the mounting of sheet metal and covers. A model that has these places only suggested by the mold gains depth and shadow from separate heads.

What the set offers

Hex bolt heads 0.8 mm in size according to the name of the item. Within the family's selection it is a separate variant carried under its own code. You work the size out by multiplying with the figure of the scale: in 1:35 scale it corresponds to roughly twenty-eight millimeters on the real machine, in 1:48 scale to just under forty and in 1:24 scale to about nineteen.

Building and painting tips

Take the parts one at a time, best with the moistened tip of a toothpick or with fine-tipped tweezers, and work over a light surface with a rim. Apply a drop of cyanoacrylate glue to the model in advance with a wire or the tip of a blade and simply lay the part into it. With longer rows, draw the spacing out beforehand so that the line does not run off. Painting is done only after gluing: a thin covering coat, a dark wash around the foot of the head and a fine lightening of the high points turn a flat wall into a surface with something to read.
