A set of flat rivets in sizes 0.5 mm to 1.2 mm. For joints that are to tell by their outline, not by their height.

An assortment of flat rivet heads in the size range 0.5 mm to 1.2 mm. A flat head is the least conspicuous of all the rivet shapes: on a model it shows mainly by its outline and a thin shadow around its circumference, not by a dome. That is precisely why it suits places where the surface is to stay smooth and yet not be empty, that is skins, covers, mating surfaces and joints over which another part is then led.
Multiply the dimension by the figure of the scale and compare with the subject. In 1:35 scale the extreme sizes of this package correspond to roughly seventeen and forty-two millimeters, in 1:48 scale to twenty-four and just under sixty. The smaller end of the range suits fine sheet-metal joints, the upper end structural riveting that is to be visible across a whole surface.
Flat parts are harder to lift, because there is nothing to grip them by. The moistened tip of a toothpick, which holds the part by surface tension, works well, together with a light surface with a rim so that the parts are not lost. Meter a drop of cyanoacrylate glue onto the model with a wire, simply lay the part into it and let it set without moving it. Paint thinly, otherwise the low shape disappears; the outline is drawn out by a dark wash that settles around the circumference of the heads and by a dry brush led across the surface.
For modelers who want their riveting fine and unobtrusive, and for those who are finishing surfaces over which further parts are assembled. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
