A fastener 1.6 mm in size: a nut and a bolt in one part. It is seated in a pre-drilled recess and sits into the surface, not on it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The difference between a glued-on dummy and a joint that looks demountable is decided below the surface. A real bolt passes through the material, so on the subject there is always a hole it is aimed at. When you merely lay the part on a smooth wall, the eye senses that missing path, even if the shape of the head were perfect.
With the 1.6 mm size it therefore pays to reach for the finest bit and make a shallow seat before you touch the glue for the first time. The part then does not stand on the surface but grows out of it, and the shadow around it closes into a ring.
A sunken seating holds far better. A joint glued on a smooth surface rests on a thin layer of paint and springs off together with it at the first careless touch. A part set in has support around its whole circumference and will survive even the display case being moved.
Drill slowly and without pressure; the thin walls of a molding are easily broken through. Choose the hole rather tighter; it can be widened, but it cannot be narrowed back. And before you start, verify the depth on an offcut of sprue, not straight on the model.
Real assembly reckons with the joint being able to come apart some day. Around the head, therefore, free space is left for a tool and the part never drowns in the surrounding sheet metal. When you keep this clearance on a model, the detail acquires scale by itself, because the eye subconsciously compares the size of the head with the space surrounding it.
