About product

Zimi Model 1:35, the M197 20 mm rotary cannon, right side

This detail set brings a precisely printed 20 mm three-barrel M197 rotary cannon in the version for the right side, completed with metal elements. It is an accessory for the armament of models of the American multirole MH-60S helicopter in 1:35 scale, not a model of the aircraft on its own. The set replaces or completes the armament on the pylon.

The real subject

The M197 is a lightened three-barrel rotary cannon of 20 mm caliber derived from the Vulcan system. It serves as helicopter armament and on the multirole naval MH-60S it is usually carried on the side pylons. The version for the right side matches the weapon mounted on the right side of the fuselage.

Tips for working and painting

The part is 3D printed in resin and completed with metal parts; remove the print supports carefully, clean the surfaces up and bond the joints with super glue. We recommend a primer, then metal shades and light weathering to emphasize the barrels and the mechanism.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of MH-60S helicopters in 1:35 scale
  • Modelers who want more faithful armament than the one from the box
  • More experienced builders working with resin and super glue

The set holds the cannon only. The helicopter model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
