VMS No-Peel Primer WHITE No.1 — White Modeling Primer

A primer from manufacturer VMS in the No-Peel line is an acrylic, water-thinnable product for preparing a model's surface before spraying colors. The designation no-peel refers to the whole line's main advantage: the film holds so firmly to the surface that it doesn't lift even when masking tape is removed, a common problem with ordinary acrylic primers. Its adhesion is comparable to solvent-based primers, but without their smell and aggressiveness. The base adheres to plastic, resin, 3D-printed parts, and metal.

The WHITE No.1 shade is pure white. It serves as a light base under bright, light colors — yellow, red, orange, or white — giving them coverage and brightness. These shades have weak coverage on their own and look dull over a gray or dark base; over a white base, they stand out after just a few thin coats.

Use

• The product is thinned by the manufacturer to a viscosity suited to direct airbrush spraying — no thinning is needed before use. The manufacturer states airbrush as the recommended technique.
• Recommended airbrush nozzles of 0.2–0.4 mm, working pressure roughly 20–40 PSI. A finer nozzle gives more control, a coarser one faster coverage.
• Apply in thin coats. The binder's very fine particles create a thin film that doesn't clog rivets, panel lines, or fine surface texture.
• Degrease the surface and remove dust before spraying; once dry, the base is ready for paint after curing per the manufacturer's instructions.
• Clean the airbrush and tools with ordinary water — no aggressive cleaner is needed.
• The white base is also useful for brightening the surface under light camouflage schemes or under subsequent low-coverage shades.
