Building and painting tips

Wash and degrease the parts before painting, so that the paint holds well. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little distance from the part and sand the rest carefully. It is proven practice to spray the shaft in gray or dark green and the head of the luminaire a shade lighter. Fine edge highlighting and inconspicuous traces of corrosion at the foot of the pole will do the scene more good than a saturated color. Stand the pole perpendicular and set the foot into the base, so that the lamp does not stand merely on the surface.
