The Cougar is a family of American mine-resistant armored vehicles developed to protect the crew against landmines and improvised explosive devices. The key feature is the armored V-shaped hull, which disperses the energy of a blast away from the crew compartment. Cougar vehicles were widely committed in 4x4 and 6x6 versions in recent conflicts, where they protected crews during transport and patrol duties. The subject of this kit is the 4x4 variant.
With armored vehicles, finish the chassis, the drivetrain and the details of the hull before you close it up. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement. The rubber wheels with their molded tread pattern come into their own after spraying and a light drybrush. We recommend spraying a primer, airbrushing the base color and bringing out the details with washes; dust and mud pigments on the chassis and the wheels will give the vehicle authentic wear from the field.
